Car Restoration / Build Details

Jan 1975 280z 2+2

White car with black interior. California original, very little rust, garage kept.

Original motor, completely rebuilt with new +40 pistons and rings. Machine shop bored, honed, decked and balanced. New bearings, ARP studs, 3-way valve job, and all new springs and seals. New water pump and new oil pump. New timing chain, guides, and gears. New fuel injectors, fuel hoses, refurbished fuel rail, and new spark plugs. This engine is pushing the limits of the L28E. This also includes new exhaust headers / engine back exhaust, muffler, and chrome tip.

This car features a completely rebuilt 5 speed transmission from a 77 280z. New clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. The five speed makes this car amazing to drive, but if you are a purist the three speed automatic (original) is available for an additional price.

New springs and dampers/shocks, new brake pads, refurbished original calipers with new seals and paint, new ball joints, new energy suspension bushings, new techno-toy tie rods and sway bars. Rebuilt and refurbished differential and sub-frame. New tires.

New interior carpet, weatherstrip seals (on most of the car, not all), new shift knob, steering wheel leather wrapped, and new leather seat covers. New dash cap looks original. Refurbished interior panels (no panels missing. Rear panels have some cracking due to age). Original spare tire included.

I have the documentation (paperwork and photos) of the restoration, including engine build. I have original paperwork and history on the car!

This car drives and sounds great. All seatbelts work, A/C is original and in working order (needs r12 or conversion). Heater works, interior lights and dash work. All exterior lights work. New alternator upgrade with internal regulator solves electrical gremlins and works great. Car idle is smooth, exhaust note is rich, and it’s easy to break the tires loose!

Gas tank cleaned and coated professionally. New fuel pump and filter.

I was told the car was repainted by p.o. and the work looks good. The car has a white spray undercoating to protect it from the elements and prevent rust.

No radio or speakers are included.

There is room for improvement if you like projects. But if you just want a classic Z that looks and drives great, this is the one for you. The quality of this car is such that you could pick it up and drive it across the country with no issues.

This car turns heads and gets a thumbs up anytime I drive it. It’s fun to drive and feels like a proper vintage sports car. Now is your chance to own a piece of history.
